Intelligent Computing

Intelligent computing, one of the key elements of ZTE's 5G Growing, is a close integration and collaboration of artificial intelligence and computing. The development of artificial intelligence can benefit from computing power development, and smarter ways of utilizing computing power can create even more possibilities. Intelligent computing has become a key engine for the development of intelligent RAN 5G-Advanced and 6G. Such a way of advancing RAN intelligence realizes flexible utilization of data, algorithms and computing power through middle platform, enables a variety of new intelligent applications for differentiated user experiences, and helps operators realize advanced network automation for more powerful capabilities with improved efficiency.

Scenarios and Problems

Inadequate data

The data in radio access network are too massive yet poorly utilized with too much redundancy, imbalance, and lack of informative interpretation, which makes it difficult to meet the requirements of increasingly demanding applications.

Limited applicability of AI algorithms/models

The conventional way of AI algorithms and models often comes with very limited applicability, and there is hardly any unified framework based on which fundamental capabilities can be leveraged efficiently.

Inadequate computing power

The computing power of wireless base stations, including computing, storage and transmission capabilities, can’t support large-scale AI model training and inter-site sharing of computing power.
